Injuries, man flu and a new bike

Well Lanzarote didn't really go exactly to plan! The knee injury stopped me running and I'm not sure when I will be running again. I have seen the doc and he believes its patella tendinitis, the normal plan would be a high dosage of anti inflammatory but with my stomach problems I can't take any. The plan is to rest until next week, if it feels OK I can strap the knee and try to start building back up. If its not OK then its back to the doc for a steroid injection directly into the knee joint (ouch) followed by 2 weeks of no training. Hope its better for next week! I also have man flu which Roy quite rightly pointed out on Turbo mans blog is far worse than any other kind of flu or illness!!!! Still get it out of the way while I'm on forced rest which I suppose is the best time to have it if your going to be ill. Paul my sponsor at www.hilderthorpecycles.co.uk has come up trumps again with a plan to get me on a new bike this season which I hope to pick up early next week. Until then I will just leave you guessing what it is (Sags and Mat your not to let the cat out of the bag until I post the pics and details after picking it up). I don't see me making the start line for the Clumber Park Duathlon on the 6th March so will now consider trying to qualify at Cambridge in May alongside Mr Saggers. Might be getting a mountain bike to play on as well in the next few weeks :-)
Hope you are all keeping fit and well ready for the season to start and Mat hope your injury heals well mate.

More on the bike next week

I know he's sponsoring you Daz but that bike shop website is very poor. No products, nothing!

Hope the knee gets better soon.
